Naz may not have knocked out Cesar Soto but he beat him easily on points.
Soto fought a dirty fight, not really trying to fight just wrestle.
Naz : “I came to punch, he came to try and rough me up bully me, but I broke his nose. The guy was using his head all the time and the referee didn’t warn him. Every time I got close he tried to step on my feet and stop the fight. I’m 2 times world champion. I wasn’t away from my beautiful wife and son for 7 weeks for nothing. He knew he couldn’t win. When the body slam came along it was to show him that ‘You are not stronger than me’. The fight itself was an ugly fight I’m not disagreeing with that but he came to make it that.”
Well the day of the fight is upon us and early tomorrow morning we will have a new holder of either the WBC or WBO belt.
In Soto, Naz faces his toughest test yet and for once no-one can complain about the calibre of his opponent. Soto’s record makes impressive viewing, 62 fights, 53 wins(39 by KO), 2 draws and 7 defeats. More important are these facts, Soto has NEVER been stopped, NEVER been knocked down or NEVER been cut and has only been beaten once in the last five years by Luisito Espinosa a prospective Naz opponent.
The trouble at the weigh-in will not bother Naz and may even have helped him, firing him up, making him want the win more than ever. Feelings are mixed around the world at whether Naz will win but a lot of people are behind him as usual and a good show and demolition by Naz will do more for his respect as a fighter amongst other boxers and fans alike that he has got from his last 3 fights.
Best wishes to Naz and good luck for the fight (as if you need it!).

It also seems that it is now very likely that the fight will be against WBC champion Cesar Soto after financial details were sorted out.
If the fight takes place on November 6th it will be a week before the heavyweight unification rematch between Lennox Lewis and Evander Holyfield also in Las Vegas.
Naz’s chances of a fight with WBC Featherweight champion Luisito Espinosa look to have ended when he became former WBC champion after losing to Mexican Cesar Soto.
