Naseem Hamed wants a rematch with Marco Antonio Barrera - and says he is entitled to have one.
Minutes after suffering the first defeat of his professional career after 35 straight victories, Hamed revealed that it was in his contract to fight Barrera again for the IBO featherweight title.
“”I accept the loss but I will come back and beat him. I’ve got a re-match clause in my contract and
I’ll get the title back,” he told Ian Darke of Sky Sports ringside in Las Vegas.
Unfortunately for Naz if he fights the same way next time the result will be the same again.
After a points victory over Manuel Calvo in Spain on 30th April to take the European Featherwieght title Steve Robinson has said he wants to fight Naz again.
Says Robinson : “Now I want a return with Prince Naseem Hamed who nicked my WBO world title in my home town of Cardiff four years ago. Naz is on the way down at 25. But at 30 I’m a reborn champion, so The Prince can look out!”

Paul Ingle has challenged Naz to a re-match after their gruelling battle on the 10th April. HBO want Naz to fight in the USA in July and the possibility is of Ingle fighting on his undercard.
Ingles manager Maloney says : “This would be a perfect starter for a re-match between the two later in the year. It would be a real Battle of Britain. I reckon we could even see a series of fights between the two of them like we had years ago (referring to Eubank/Benn and Eubank/Collins).”
