Paul Ingle has will be fighting Manuel Medina for his IBF belt in November after failing to beat Naz in April. Ingle hopes that the fight will help him in his bid to fight Naz by summer 2000.

Paul Ingle has set his sights on Naz again and he’s been given 2 ways of getting the re-match he wants.
The first way is to fight Manuel Medina for the IBF belt, which Naz is after for unification and the other way is a four fight package, one fight against IBO champ Junior Jones offered to him by none other than Prince Promotions, Naz’s management and promotions company!
Says Ingle : “The offer from Prince Promotions is better money-wise, but the IBF belt carries more prestige. If I took that it would be a big step towards fighting Naz again because he wants to unify the titles. Hamed wanted to fight Medina himself so he could hold the IBF belt, but if I hold it, he has got to come looking for me again.”

Paul Ingle has challenged Naz to a re-match after their gruelling battle on the 10th April. HBO want Naz to fight in the USA in July and the possibility is of Ingle fighting on his undercard.
Ingles manager Maloney says : “This would be a perfect starter for a re-match between the two later in the year. It would be a real Battle of Britain. I reckon we could even see a series of fights between the two of them like we had years ago (referring to Eubank/Benn and Eubank/Collins).”
It has been reported that Paul Ingle fought for 10 rounds against Naz with torn tendons in his ankle which he damaged after twisting his ankle during his first round knockdown.
Says Ingle : “Every time I turned my ankle I was in agony, but there was no way I was going to show the pain.”
Ingle also spoke about Naz’s punches.
Ingle : “They were hard, but I’ve been hit harder before. In the European title fight, Billy Hardy hit me with one punch which really surprised me. I thought at the time this kid can really dig. It was harder than any of Hamed’s punches. Hamed hit hard, but it was his accuracy and his correct technique that was telling.”

Naz was victorious once more and defeated Paul Ingle in the 11th round. Naz had Ingle on the floor in round 1 and again in round 6 with a hard left to the ribs which had Ingle wincing with pain. Naz was caught more times than usual in the rounds 9 and 10 leading to a bloodied nose and a few bruises. Come round 11 Naz caught Ingle with a short but devastating left which sent him to the canvas and when he got up the referee stopped the fight. Naz was actually on the canvas himself once during the fight when he threw a punch at Ingle and missed and his momentum took him over but he flicked himself back up straight on to his feet and was ready to go.
Naz’s post fight comments.
Naz : “Paul Came with great heart tonight and he caused some excitement. He went down in the 1st round. He took some good shots but he got back up and showed his heart and I like Paul for that. He did start coming forward and he was catching me. Fair do’s. I give him that. But, I took them rounds nice. It wasn’t as if my legs had gone or I was stumbling. Paul’s a good fighter and I think that - give him a certain amount of time - he’ll be at the top.”
Lennox Lewis’ trainer Emanuel Steward will be in the corner of Naz when he fights Paul Ingle tomorrow.
Both Naz and Ingle weighed in fine without any problems though it is rumoured that Ingle spent the whole day sweating off a few pounds to do it. Naz was 20 minutes late for the weigh-in sparking rumours that he was over but he said that he had made the weight 3 weeks ag
