Hamed Not Fighting

According to an official statement from Prince Promotions Naz will not be fighting again this year. The fight with Istvan Kovacs was not allowed by HBO and Paul Ingle wouldn’t have been ready to fight in November.

Naseem will not now be able to defend his WBO featherweight title on Nov
4th. HBO, whom we are contracted to, have declined to accept Hungarian Ko ko
Kovacs as a worthy opponent. Reluctantly we are forced to agree with their
decision as Ko Ko does not have a single credible win on his record. His
greatest achievement to date being a points victory over a faded Steve
Robinson. Robinson had been knocked out in the 11th round by J.C. Ramirez in
his previous fight. Naseem is unhappy that this situation has arisen but
says at this stage of career he only wants to fight the best. He added that
he would be quite happy to knock Ko Ko out when he has earned his shot.

Hamed V Jones Cancelled

The fight with Junior Jones has been called off after the Junior Jones camp failed to sign in time.
Two replacement opponents are being touted as possible replacements, Paul Ingle and WBO No. 1 contender Steve Robinson.
