Hamed Beats Bungu In 4

The prince blasted back to London with a 4th Round victory over South African Champion Vuyani Bungu. In his best fight for a long while Naz sent Bungu crashing to the canvas midway through the 4th round to secure victory over the unbeaten challenger.
Naz staged a spectacular ring entrance in which he came flying down from the top of the building on a magic carpet, danced up the aisle and flipped into the ring. Bungu’s secret weapon never showed itself and neither did his threat of going back to his dressing room if Naz took too long to enter.
Photos from the fight will be added over the next couple of days so kept checking.

Hamed V Bungu Fight Preview

· No Comments · Fights, News · , , ,

We are once again less than a day away from a Naz fight and it seems about the right time for a fight preview as we did before the last fight against Cesar Soto.
Naz will be stepping into the ring on Saturday night against Vuyani Bungu the 33 year old South African who is the former IBF Super-Bantamweight Champion. Bungu successfully defended his title 13 times after winning it on 20th August 1994 against Kennedy McKinney, who many believed to be the best pound-for-pound fighter around at the time. Bungu has not had a fight for 13 months but has been in the gym for this time after he relinquished his belt.
Out of the 39 fights that Bungu has had he has won 37 and has lost 2, the last loss he had was on points 8 years ago. 34 of his fights have taken place in South Africa though he did appear on the undercard of the Naz V McCullough fight in the USA when he was tipped as being the next opponent for Naz.
Whilst not regarded as being a big puncher like Naz, Bungu has stopped 18 men but only 2 in his last 14 fights, Bungu’s style is as an in your face, crowding boxer who boxes orthodox yet can switch if he needs to. In the height department Naz loses a few inches with Bungu being 5ft 5′ but this shouldn’t prove too much of a problem.
On to the fight and Rodney Berman, promoter of Bungu, says that their man will return to his dressing room if the Prince takes more than 2 or 3 minutes to get to the ring. Naz doing what according to sources will be his last major showboating entrance will take at least 5 minutes to get to the ring and will be making this last spectacular ring walk his best yet.
Naz has something to prove this time, which he seems to have finally realised and knows that he needs to knock Bungu out. If Naz can find some of his old style which used to captivate the audience as he ducked and dived avoiding punches for rounds whilst delivering his own corkscrew uppercuts and off balance missiles he’ll win in more ways than one.
The time for talking is nearly over an when they step in the ring and Bungu gets hit with the first of Naz’s big shots we will see how the fight’s going to go. If Bungu can take Naz’s power it’s going to be a long drawn out fight but if he can’t Naz will have him down early and then take him apart for a few rounds before the decisive blow.
